Luke David Harris | Sound for Film & TV

I’m a sound recordist who is a conservatoire trained classical musician with an obsessive ear for sound and music. I pride myself on being the safest pair of hands when it comes to recording sound on set. I tread the line between making sure sound is collected as best as possible but ensuring there is little interference to the shoot day. At heart, I’m a diplomat and know how to negotiate as well as work in harmony with everyone on the team to create the best possible results.

I trained with Steve Jones, a cherpy scouser who had made it his life work to become one of the best location sound mixers in the UK commercials circuit with 35 years under his belt. Over the 6 years I worked as Steve’s boom op, his obsessive drive for detail and for preparing for any outcome was something that became second nature.

I have over 10 years of recording sound on set. I’ve worked with many a high profile name on various commercials and documentaries including, Jeff Goldbloom, Harvey Keital, Sir David Attenborough, Nile Rogers, Vivian Westwood, Ed Sheeran, Tom Hardy, Ruby Wax, Steven Graham, Victoria Beckham and Noel Gallagher. I have also travelled with work to Pakistan, Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany and Spain to name a few.

In 2016, I branched into Spatial Audio, specifically for 360 video. I worked on various projects with Henrik Oppermann such as Nightflyers (George RR Martin) Here Be Dragons, Jaunt, Porsche Sennhesier, Brooke Horses, Guardian VR, Pilsners Urquell, RNLI, NME. I also run Spatial Music events, for example I wrote music for a 30 speaker Spatial Audio sound system with Dan Samsa at the Albany Theatre.
